Lucky Adkins, 67, lifetime resident of Veedersburg died 9:15 p.m. Saturday at his home following several weeks of serious illness. Mr. Adkins was born 22 Dec 1877 the son of Chat and Susan (Lucky) Adkins. Surviving are his wife, Esther (Keyes) Adkins, one daughter, Mrs. Mary Froedge of Veedersburg, two sons, Leslie of Veedersburg and John of Danville. One granddaughter, Karen S. Adkins also survives. Funeral is held Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Fishero with Rev. OW McGaughey officiating. Burial in the Masonic Cemetery at Waynetown, Indiana.

Luckey Adkins, son of Chapman Adkins and Susan Luckey Adkins was born near Veedersburg, Fountain County, Indiana on the 22nd day of December 1877. He died at his home on West Washington Street following a long illness on the 23rd day of June, 1945 at the age of 67 years 1/2 month and 1 day. Luckey grew to manhood in the vicinity of his birth and on the 9th day of November 1901, he was united in marriage to Esther Keys. To this union 5 children were born: Leslie; John; Zeb; Hugh and Mary. He is survived by his wife, Esther Keys Adkins and the following children Leslie B, of Veedersburg; John B of Danville, Illinois and Mary Froedge of Veedersburg and by one granddaughter, Karen Sue Adkins of Danville, Illinois and also by two nephews, Claude and Luckey Stucker. For 22 years Luckey was a trusted employee of the Veedersburg Grain Elevator. In recent years he has engaged in trucking and gardening; and the products of his garden and truck patches were the first and earliest for sale on the streets and in the homes of Veedersburg. In 1909 during the Honeywell Meeting Luckey madethe Good Confession and was baptised by Rev. OE Kelly at that time the pastor of the Christian Church of Veedersburg, Indiana. His entire life was spent in this community and few men had a larger acquaintance or more friends. He was a faithful husband an indulgent father and a true friend. The entire community shares with the loves ones in the loss sustained by the death of Luckey Adkins.
